Fisher & Paykel launches full surface induction hob

Fisher & Paykel has released its first full surface induction hob, which offers the flexibility to place pans in any position and cook anywhere on the cooktop by eliminating heated zones.

With the ability to place up to six pots or pans of any shape or size anywhere within the large cooking surface, there is no limit to the dishes customers can create. However, users can still enjoy precise cooking by using the intuitive 7” touchscreen display to individually adjust the power to each pot.

The hob is so intelligent that if a pot is moved, the display will automatically adjust to show its new location no matter where it is placed on the surface.

The hob’s PowerBoost and GentleHeat functions enable the customer to achieve extremely accurate temperature control, which delivers very high to very low heats that are perfect for performing specialised tasks such as searing meat or melting chocolate. Each piece of cookware is designated an independent zone timer to ensure that food won’t overcook or burn. With the precise power that induction cooking offers, even across different pans, customers can expect consistently perfect results every time.

As induction hobs will only begin heating your cookware once you have placed it on the ceramic surface and will stop once you remove it, induction cooking is much safer for everyone.

As a further safety feature, the induction cooktops heat only the cookware itself and not the hob surface, so you won’t have to worry about little fingers or leaving the appliance on. Induction hobs are also said to be more energy efficient than their electric or gas-powered counterparts.

The flat and easy to clean glass surface can be installed raised or flush and features intuitive touchscreen controls.
