Wunda Underfloor Heating

Underfloor heating top priority according to Rightmove research

Rightmove has revealed new research into the top five features that have grown in popularity based on the number of agents advertising them as ‘key selling points’. Coming in at number four on the list, underfloor heating has grown in popularity by 114%.

Not only is underfloor heating much more energy efficient, with input temperatures as low as 45°C, but homeowners are also gravitating toward the paired back, minimal aesthetic that comes with removing radiators. By removing radiators, you will gain up to 15% more usable floor space within a home. You are no longer bound by radiator positioning when styling a room’s layout and you can furnish with freedom. It’s an interior designer’s dream scenario. Underfloor heating also uses half the energy required to heat a radiator at 70-80°C, affording homeowners significant savings on their energy bills.

Sam Jump, product manager, Wunda Group PLC comments: “Simply put, there has been a large boom in demand for underfloor heating. This has been a long time coming but is now here thanks to our desire for energy-efficient solutions at home driven by the green revolution. More recently this has been compounded by the increased time we have spent at home over the past two years and a desire to invest in our comfort and spend more on home improvements. Insulation aside, underfloor heating is one of the best things you can do to improve heating at home during retrofitting, but not all underfloor heating systems are equal.

“We knew that for underfloor heating to be desired by the masses, we had to solve the problem of performance, control, easy installation, and affordability. This is how we came to reinvent underfloor heating and develop our Wundatherm underfloor heating system.”

James Lloyd, specification consultant, Wunda Group PLC adds, “First and foremost, a properly installed underfloor heating system is categorically the most efficient heating delivery solution for the home as it runs perfectly on the lowest flow temperatures. From helping to save money; to the minimal maintenance required, underfloor heating is becoming increasingly popular for a few reasons. Offering an energy-efficient heating solution, installing underfloor heating should result in reduced energy usage and a lower heating bill.

“Our water-based system, used in conjunction with our WundaSmart controls, can effectively zone the heating for efficient heating, where you want it, and when you want it. Plus, thanks to the rapid response of the system, heat is distributed evenly and starts to heat rooms in just 30 minutes, providing a consistent, evenly spread heat, from the floor up. Radiators rely on convection currents, heating the wall and ceiling before the space we actually live in, underfloor heating works from the floor up, keeping our feet and bodies warmer as we move.”
