Abode, designer and distributor of kitchen and bathroom products, has announced it has expanded its marketing team with a new digital marketing manager, Mercedes Jones, and a new product marketing executive, Sorcha Baker.
Leanne Stansfield, marketing manager at Abode says, “In line with our growth strategy and to better support our ambitious development plans in 2024-5, we wanted to continue to bridge the gap between key account management and product marketing with the appointment of two new specialist marketeers.
“As part of our ongoing commitment to sales and marketing working more closely together, Mercedes and Sorcha will help to ensure our customers take advantage of our ever-expanding product offer, online services, retail rewards and marketing packages. As members of the Abode marketing team, Mercedes and Sorcha will be responsible for clearly communicating brand values and showcasing our range of British-designed sinks and taps to encourage higher quality leads and enhanced promotional materials universally.”
Mercedes (pictured top) has worked with many well-known British brands including Marks & Spencer and Taylor Wimpey as well as driving website development for yarn manufacturer Sirdar and managing e-commerce and social media for luxury textiles specialist Joshua Ellis & Co in previous roles. Mercedes brings a wealth of experience in optimising brands online and converting clicks into sales and is already applying her technical know-how to the Abode digital experience.
Sorcha (pictured left) joins Abode with hands-on experience in retail from her time as creative and brand manager at We Are Cow, the UK’s no 1 destination for vintage clothes, including opening concessions in Selfridges Trafford and Selfridges Bullring following a year as store manager at the flagship Leeds branch. Commercial, creative and people-oriented, Sorcha is developing marketing strategies covering everything from photography and artwork and social media campaigns to training and sales support. As the Abode family of brands continues to evolve with new product development, she will be working closely with her colleagues in Product, Design, Digital and Marketing to assess best practice and ensure that there is a clear roadmap to promote the features and benefits of all things Abode.
Mercedes Jones says “I am absolutely delighted to become part of the Abode family and am excited to enhance our online presence so that we can have a bigger online footprint with even more integrated support for retailers, trade customers and homeowners at every touchpoint. Creating new ways which showcase the quality and innovation of Abode products to the next generation of customers is very important to me and I am excited to be on this new career adventure.”
Sorcha Baker says “I am so excited about collaborating with different teams to create compelling stories and artwork which will really bring home the Abode USPs and commitment to ESG as eco-conscious consumerism is a growing trend in our marketplace. I truly believe that by empowering individuals to buy from an ethical brand, they can have kitchens and bathrooms which are beautiful, practical and sustainable in line with building regulations and a luxurious lifestyle. I am a big fan of the Pronteau steaming hot water tap brand and look forward to championing it.”
