In partnership with Blum, Egger, NEFF, Franke, Sensio, and Cyncly, Callerton unveils the Willow Family Kitchen—an innovative multigenerational kitchen created under the RK-Tec initiative and designed to reflect real family life.
The Willow Family kitchen is a collaboration between seven industry-leading brands and sets a new benchmark for design that is both functional and future-facing. Conceived as a fully working, real-life environment, the kitchen demonstrates how tailored design can meet the needs of three generations, seven individuals, and even one dog.
“The Willow Kitchen isn’t a concept—it’s a complete, working environment that demonstrates what our industry can achieve when we collaborate. It’s a space that supports, adapts, and inspires,” says David Knaggs, marketing manager at Callerton.
Designed around a story
The kitchen is centred around the fictional Willow family: Angelica the architect, Brian the community chef, their two children Sofia (15) and Eric (6), Granny Margaret—who is joining the household and lives with arthritis—and Dave the dog. Each area is purpose-built to meet individual needs, from ergonomic comfort for Margaret to multifunctional features for Angelica and child-friendly solutions for Eric.
Detail-driven and real-life ready
Human-centred features include:
- A backlit cocktail cabinet and pantry for joy as well as function
- Dual Blum SPACE TOWERS for easy access
- Hidden pull-outs and pet-friendly drawers
- The Blum SPACE STEP to encourage safe independence
- A discreet, compact laundry zone
Housed in the Blum Experience Centre, this working environment doubles as a training hub, offering kitchen specialists insight into delivering ‘Right 1st Time’ design.
RK-Tec: A legacy of collaboration
Launched in 2008 to support design-led specialists, RK-Tec continues to drive industry innovation. “Kitchen furniture alone doesn’t make a kitchen. It’s the synergy between design and a multitude of diverse products, plus innovation and lateral thinking that delivers outstanding results,” says James Herriot, Founding Director of Callerton and RK-Tec pioneer.
