The new deVOL Paddington Kitchen is made up almost completely of deVol’s standard-sized Shaker furniture. In this case study, deVOl explain why this kitchen is so perfect for its new home.

We arrived at the front door of a classic London townhouse, were greeted by the loveliest customer and led up the stairs to a 900 square foot flat. It was small but wow was it gorgeous and it had been totally redone, top to bottom, absolutely impeccably. Utter proof that you really don’t need crazy amounts of space to create truly beautiful interiors.

A little reminiscent of one of our most iconic projects ever with its rich bespoke green colour and large expanses of bold marble and brass, but new and exciting all in its own way.

This kitchen is made up almost completely with our standard sized Shaker furniture. It makes us so happy to see that you don’t always need bespoke sized pieces to create the overall look of a bespoke kitchen. Sticking to standard-sized cupboards is also the most economical way to design, so if you’re working to a specific or smaller budget, there is no better option.

The layout is simple, L-shaped and clean – perfect for this open plan room where the owners do everything from cook and do chores, to eat and drink together at the dining table and chill together on the squishy sofa just out of shot. The flat had really high ceilings so building up made total sense, one tall run with bags of storage, double stacked Miele ovens, an integrated fridge and freezer and a large pantry cupboard was so practical and allowed the rest of the room to feel uncluttered and easy going.

These customers made spot-on choices with the accessories here, a little deVOL fluted sink, our quirky handcrafted Boho cup handles, aged brass shelf brackets and the ultimate set of taps – our Ionian style paired with a very handy instant boiling hot water tap, both in the same exclusive deVOL Aged Brass finish. A showstopping honed Statuarietto marble worktop and extra tall splashback and shelf were the perfect finishing touches to this kitchen and added just a hint of luxury and plenty of natural beauty.
