Installer Insight:   Graham Barnett, an experienced fitter who works mainly in the Suffolk area told us about his first experience with Evolve.  “I had heard about Evolve solid core tops but never actually seen or worked with the material until my client specified it for the kitchen in her cottage,” he says.  “Naturally I was a bit wary – I had no idea what the material was like or how easy it was to cut, shape and join. My first thought was that the 12mm thickness meant it was an awful lot easier to move around than traditional tops – and as the job was up a flight of stairs that was important.”

“I liked the design – the client chose Caldeira which with the dark grey core colour looks very like natural slate. There are interesting colour striations in the surface which is resistant to liquids and to stains so perfect for kitchen use. Cutting and forming is straightforward when you use sharp, good quality tools. Being a solid, high density material, it can be cut to any shape without leaving a rough edge so attractive rounded corners can be achieved. Joints are just about invisible – the whole effect is really sleek. The solid colour core meant I could produce professional drainer grooves without the need for metal strip inserts. I was amazed at the strength of the material – I tried to snap an offcut just to see if it was possible – it wasn’t. All in all, I would say the material is a pleasure to work with – and the result is excellent.“

To qualify to win Festool Tools, images must be show installations undertaken since 1st September 2019, and include a 20-50 word review of Evolve. If you’re using a social media profile set to private, you can direct message a screenshot of the post to Bushboard. Winners will be notified by direct message.

Stylish, hard wearing, easy to clean Evolve solid core laminate from Bushboard has been a big hit with both consumers and installers.  Consumers love this unique material because of its outstanding qualities and the stunning range of decors while installers have praised its hard-wearing construction and ease of installation.
