Bushboard extends offering with Zenith
Manufacturer of laminate surfaces for kitchens and bathrooms, Bushboard, has extended its offering for the retail market to include Zenith, a range of hardwearing worktops with an ultra-slim profile that are designed to look, feel and perform like natural stone.
As the trend for minimalism and open plan living spaces remains popular, Zenith enables showrooms and designers to offer really thin, but extremely durable worksurfaces that are perfect for achieving a barely-there effect.
Each slimline worksurface is made of premium compact laminate, created by compressing multiple layers of decorative paper and resin together to achieve a thickness of just 12.5mm. Featuring a solid core in complementary colours, the final product is waterproof, as well as being highly resistant to impact and abrasion.
There are 20 realistic designs and four textures to choose from, meaning it is easy to mix and match surfaces for completely bespoke solutions. Decors range from marble, stone, sparkle and industrial concrete, while finishes include Granite, Extra Matt, Fusion (slightly raised) and Roche, which is lightly roughened to imitate stone. These are available in worksurface, breakfast bar and upstand options, as well as offering splashbacks and a wide choice of coordinating colourways that work seamlessly together.
Furthermore, being equally waterproof and non-porous makes Zenith surfaces especially suitable for installing undermount sinks, creating curved edges and bespoke drainage areas, by adding contrasting grooves that expose the coloured core of the material.
Fitting Zenith worktops is quick and easy enabling both retail teams and installers to accommodate more work during busy times. With no specialist tooling required, surfaces can be cut to follow curves and shapes on site, which means fit-outs can be completed swiftly and accurately with the minimum amount of downtime for homeowners.
The whole process is made all the easier by the fact there is no need for edging, with just a simple sanding procedure and application of linseed oil or wax required to smooth and add shine. Installation support for fitters is provided and further assistance is available online.
Louise Bebbington, UK Marketing Communications Manager at Bushboard, said: “As an extension to our product range, Zenith performs in the same way as a stone or marble worksurface but with all the added benefits of a compact laminate. The result is an extremely versatile, super-strong, slimline solution that can be used to achieve a high-end appearance but at a more affordable price point.
“Above all, we wanted to provide a go-to range for retailers. Zenith’s thin profile is particularly suited to open plan living spaces, which are currently so popular and suited to family living. In these multi-functional areas, it is important to help traditional cabinetry appear more like furniture, blending units into the background. In contrast, the streamlined nature of compact laminate worktops makes them a great option for smaller rooms too. By making clever use of colour and texture to suit a customer’s individual taste, the opportunities are endless.”
Post installation, unlike stone or ceramic, no complex care routine is required to maintain Zenith surfaces. Simply wiping spills away with a damp cloth and using a mild detergent is enough to keep the original finish clean and at its best for years to come.
Antibacterial Protection erves to slow down bacteria growth by up to 99.9 per cent for the lifetime of the surface. All Bushboard Zenith worksurfaces come with a 10-year guarantee for extra peace of mind too.
