Franke’s new Atmos hood solves condensation problems

Franke’s pioneering new Atmos hood features an innovative Steam Control System to solve the problem of dripping condensation by capturing rising steam before it condenses on surfaces.

Ideal for use with induction hobs where condensation can be more common, the hood uses a second motor which emits air jets that create a vortex effect. This draws up the steam and eliminates water droplets forming on the underside of the hood, keeping glass, walls, the cabinet and the hood’s filters moisture-free.

The sleek stainless steel hood is installed in wall cabinetry for an integrated extraction solution. It features a brushless motor for low noise levels and an A rating for energy efficiency.

It is available in three sizes of 60, 90 and 120cm wide. Operated using touch controls, the Atmos has three speeds plus an intensive setting to capture rising steam and odours.

Says Jeanette Ward, communications manager at Franke

“A common issue, especially when you’re cooking with an induction hob, is condensation which can lead to moisture stains on worktops, cabinetry and the glass surface of the hob. Our answer to this was to develop the unique Steam Control System to actively channel the airflow above the hob to help keep the kitchen dry. It’s a product refinement that helps make cooking more of a pleasure.”
