Homebase launches new website

Homebase has created a new website designed to overhaul how its customer’s shop by delivering a one-click ‘shop the look’ make-over solution.

Created in partnership with THG plc’s end-to-end e-commerce division THG Ingenuity, the website includes new ‘before and after’ makeovers that will show how Homebase products can come together to refresh unloved spaces.

‘Shop the look’ content will also mean that customers can get everything they need to recreate the latest trends in their own homes in just one click. It will also be easier to shop and offer a wide range of new flexible ways to pay, such as PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Zip. The refreshed website will also offer a more personalised shopping experience with customer accounts making it easy to manage orders and create wish lists.

The online investment is being matched instore with new ‘get the look’ displays, Storage & More ‘shop within a shop’ and even more choice across home and soft furnishings. All supported by expert team members trained in everything from paint mixing and garden care to kitchen and bathroom design.

Damian McGloughlin, CEO of Homebase, said: “We know that many people get their initial ideas for home and garden updates or transformation projects online, which has a huge impact on how they then want to shop. I’m really excited and proud to launch our new website that will make it even easier to be inspired and will be supported by our stores which will show products in whole room sets to help customers envisage how the look could fit in their own home.”

John Gallemore, CEO of THG Ingenuity, said: “This is just the first step in our 10-year partnership with Homebase, as we set about putting digital at the very heart of the business and preparing Homebase for future growth.

“During the months and years to come, you can expect to see further innovation from Homebase as the THG Ingenuity platform continues to evolve, helping to create an outstanding, data-driven e-commerce experience that complements the business’ network of stores.”

Homebase’s new website is part of the first phase of a 10-year partnership with THG plc, announced in September.
