‘George Clarke’s Old House, New Home’ is a renovation programme that sees period properties across the country receive modern makeovers, the results of which display the perfect blend of old and new. The first episode, of the fifth series, takes viewers to Ackworth in West Yorkshire, where presenter and architect George Clarke transforms a historic Georgian property into a stunning contemporary home.   

The renovation of the property, which had been split into two individual houses in the 1970s, takes viewers on an emotional and heart-felt journey as a childhood house is transformed into a home fit for modern life. The makeover included a complete overhaul of the kitchen, where a traditional, yet dated, kitchen built by the homeowner’s father, was replaced with a stylish and modern kitchen-diner with large sliding doors overlooking the garden, creating a light-filled and open plan space.
