Liebherr helps tackle the price cap with energy-efficient appliances

As of 1 January, the Price Cap rose to £1,928 per year for a typical UK household, a 5% increase on the previous (October 2023) Price Cap of £1,834 a year.1 Now more than ever, homeowners are increasingly seeking appliances that do not cost the earth, both in terms of running costs and environmental impact.

Fridges and freezers that are more energy efficient, durable and boast a longer lifecycle are top of the agenda when shopping for a new appliance. According to German manufacturer Liebherr, it offers one of the largest ranges of A-rated appliances in the UK, including over 30 products above a C energy efficiency rating. With power consumption as low as 116 kWh per year, Liebherr fridge-freezers help you save valuable energy and money.

This is achieved by using high-quality vacuum insulation panels. Unlike traditional alternatives, the panels Liebherr uses also help keep energy consumption low even after years of use.

Additionally, all Liebherr products feature a sensor system that continually adapts the cooling performance to current usage; this means they only use up their entire power reserves when necessary. Helping to benefit households in numerous ways, from improved sustainability and reduced waste to better economic efficiency. The appliances also operate with a low noise level, boast long-term durability, have a large capacity for produce and optimum power output.

Tim Hutchinson, divisional manager at Liebherr comments: “At a time when people are struggling with rising costs, it has never been more important to adopt the buy once, buy well mentality. When it comes to appliances, it is no different. Homeowners must choose products that have a long lifecycle, deliver optimum performance until the end and can aid in reducing costs; from appliances that are energy efficient that help reduce electricity bills, to those that incorporate freshness innovation to help keep food fresh for longer – aiding to reduce food waste.

At Liebherr, we are proud to be leading the sector and this is just the start of things to come as we continue developing our technology.”

As a business, Liebherr says it is striving for a greener future, including its advanced appliances and its more sustainable manufacturing processes. Leading the sector in a sustainable future, in 2023 Liebherr introduced its innovative BluRoX technology in 2023 – the world’s first freezer to include recyclable vacuum perlite technology.

Liebherr was awarded a Gold EcoVadis sustainability rating for the second time, ranking the company among the top 3% of all rated manufacturing companies worldwide. EcoVadis evaluates a business’ commitment in the areas of environment, ethics, labour and human rights, and sustainable procurement. The company’s wider commitment to the environment extends to all its appliances across its different sectors.
