Miele has been scientifically certified for its hygiene performance by independent test institutes.
Miele dishwashers were awarded a Proven Hygiene certificate in 2020 (issued by the independent Rhein-Waal Technical University), which confirmed that a Miele model removes more than 99.9% of all bacteria.
Now, in 2021, Miele dishwashers have been awarded a further certificate with the Golden Virus Seal for the removal of more than 99.9% of viruses (from the independent institute at the Albstadt-Sigmaringen University).
Miele affirms it is the first and only company to carry the Golden Virus Seal for dishwashers, offering consumers peace of mind for keeping their family and home, safe.
All Miele dishwashers now remove more than 99.9% of all viruses and depending on the programme selected, different types of viruses are removed. However, in all programmes including ECO, enveloped viruses including Influenza and the Coronavirus are removed**.
In the Miele QuickPowerWash and PowerWash cycles, Noro and Adeno viruses are deactivated**. The best performance is achieved in the Hygiene and Intensive programmes as both enveloped and non-enveloped viruses are removed by more than 99.9%. The Golden Virus Seal is based on the combination of Miele dishwashers being used with Miele’s own advanced detergent systems such as Miele’s auto-dosing PowerDisk or Miele UltraTabs.
Sian Bailey, category manager for dishwashing for Miele GB says, “We are so thrilled that Miele dishwashers, when used in conjunction with our own advanced detergents, now offer consumers added peace of mind when it comes to removing viruses and bacteria from their cookware and crockery. A hygienic home is a must for today’s busy lifestyles and the current climate and Miele will always go the extra mile to ensure our customers get the very best and very latest technology to facilitate this.”
