KBB and merchant services provider, Simon Acres Group (SAGL) will launch a new recruitment business to help companies deal with the growing skills shortage in the construction industry, at KBB Birmingham on Monday 07 March.
The new business, Building and Construction Recruitment Ltd, (BACRL) is focused on both professional and skilled roles, bringing employers a fast and efficient solution to their recruitment needs.
Simon Acres Group Managing Director Simon Acres says, “We have brought together a team with a wealth of experience in the sector. They have access to an extensive network of contacts and understand the needs of developers, housebuilders and contractors.”
Jake Maycock, joins as Head of BACRL and he is supported by Justine Tiffin, who takes up the position of Senior Recruiter. They will be joined by six more recruits by the end of June. Jake has held senior management positions within the property and building sector, enabling him to bring outstanding customer relationship skills and an in depth knowledge of the building and construction industry to his role. Justine has 10 years recruitment experience, including industrial and health and safety expertise, which is increasingly important within the construction sector.
Jake says, “I am thrilled to be working with the Simon Acres Group on this exciting new business. The time is right to maximise opportunities for growth in this sector, with many forecasters predicting a buoyant future for construction. The Glenigan UK Construction Industry Forecast 2022-2023 predicts that the value of underlying project starts is set to rise 7% in 2022 and by a further 5% in 2023.
“In addition, The Construction Products Association (CPA) latest quarterly survey forecasts that output in the industry will grow by a robust 4.3% in 2022. The Construction Skills Network (CSN) also forecasts UK construction output to grow at an average rate of 4.4% across 2022, and believes that this will mean the construction sector will need to recruit an extra 43,000 workers.
“With materials, labour and skills shortages likely to continue into 2022, companies will be looking for efficient recruitment support that will save time and enable them to focus on other business essentials.”
