Kbb and merchant service provider Simon Acres Group (SAGL) has released its latest podcast in the Movers and Shakers series. Young designer, Emma Forrest from Kitchens InStyle talked to Simon Acres from her beautiful showroom on the edge of the New Forest in Cadnam, Hampshire.
Emma began her career after completing a degree in design, then spending time with a large retailer before moving to the luxury showroom, Kitchens Instyle.
Emma says, “I gained some great experience in my first role but wanted to move onto a position where I could build a closer relationship with my clients and have the creativity to follow a more design led approach.
“I have been lucky to benefit from plenty of training, taking advantage of all the online courses offered by manufacturers, as well as learning whilst working in the showroom and dealing with customers. It is wonderful to be in a position where we can welcome customers back in the showroom, as it gives us more time to spend with them and build a rapport, as well as providing an opportunity to touch and feel the products.
“Business is good as people have spent so much time at home, it has made them understand better what they want from their living spaces. Most customers are looking to bring the kitchen into the heart of the home with space for living, entertaining and socialising.
“It is even more important than ever to try and establish a budget early on, as customers may have been researching online before they come into the showroom. I will be direct so I know what I am working with, I can then be ready to offer alternative products but still provide the look they want.
“I am excited about the future, with so many innovations in appliances and products and the move towards sustainability, kitchen design has many more challenges ahead.”
