Schmidt UK reports record sales with 45% increase in trade figures

Schmidt United Kingdom has reported record sales, driven by solid growth for the year. Significant gains in retail and trade sectors have solidified its position as a leading UK kitchen and interior design market player.

Retail sales are up 11% year-on-year, while trade figures increased by 45%.

According to the furniture brand, the figures highlight its growing presence in the UK market. The business is the UK arm of the €1bn-plus Schmidt Groupe, one of Europe’s largest interior companies.

UK country manager Jean-Michel Peragine was quick to highlight another milestone, with three of the brand’s franchised showrooms ranked in the top 10 globally for sales in June within the 900-strong Schmidt Groupe network.

He said: “Having three showrooms in the top 10 worldwide reflects the increasing popularity of our brand with UK consumers and the connection we’re building with them. We’ve focused on delivering not just exceptional made-to-measure products, but also a seamless customer experience.

The 11% retail sales growth demonstrates that our strategic initiatives are working and that there is a strong demand for the quality and innovation that Schmidt brings to the market. We’re excited to continue this upward trajectory.”

Trade growth was even more impressive after a concerted push to partner with more property and commercial firms.

“The 45% increase in our trade business is a significant milestone for Schmidt UK,” said Jean-Michel. “It shows that our trade partners trust us to deliver high-quality, customisable solutions that meet the specific needs of their projects. This growth also highlights our ability to adapt and expand in a competitive market.”

The year began with momentum for the manufacturer and retailer, with B Corp certification secured late last year.

“In our business it’s important to be doing our best for the environment as well as our customers,” Jean-Michel said. “B Corp is the latest in a long line of sustainability credentials. This matters greatly to us, and to our customers of course.”

Mr Peragine added that Schmidt’s focus is on further enhancing its product offerings, expanding its franchise showroom network, and continuing to strengthen partnerships within the trade sector.

Despite its global stature Schmidt Groupe remains a family-owned business, led since 2006 by Anne Leitzgen, granddaughter of the founder Hubert Schmidt.
