Smeg launches state-of-the-art professional Blast Chiller

Smeg’s new Blast Chiller is designed with state-of-the-art technology to preserve fresh ingredients by quickly and effectively lowering the temperature of high-temperature foods for storage purposes without compromising quality. This appliance also significantly helps reduce food waste, boosting sustainability in everyday life.

Smeg’s Blast Chiller is made in-house in Italy alongside its extensive range of professional appliances. It delivers on design, providing the perfect aesthetic alignment with the brand’s other appliances, interchangeable grids with Galileo ovens, and lights inside the cell. The Blast Chiller offers a user-friendly experience by providing automatic programs, an intuitive full-colour TFT display, and a touch guide.

Maintaining the same nutritional characteristics as fresh food, Smeg’s Blast Chiller ensures higher quality for healthier eating. The product also helps to save time when batch cooking, as the blast Chiller quickly cools large batches of food without risking contamination.

Lowering the temperature of cooked foods to +3C in just 90 minutes, Smeg’s Blast Chiller stores food for longer but reserves the freshness. Ideal for families and busy lifestyles, it extends the shelf life of foods by up to 70%, allowing for better portioning of preparations and enabling efficient weekly meal planning.

Built with convenience in mind, fish can be kept at an ultra-low temperature of -18° for 96 hours to neutralise every trace of parasites and bacteria. This process guarantees the safety of seafood and opens up the possibility of savouring raw fish in the comfort of the home.

Achieve top-tier structure and texture effects through optimal leavening results for any dough, with a differentiated leavening cycle of up to 3 steps that can be set for maximum lightness and digestibility, using a minimum amount of yeast.

Alongside food functions, the drinks cooling function allows bottles to be chilled quickly. In fact, in just a few minutes, wines or beverages can be brought to the desired temperature and will be ready to be served. The Blast Chiller is a handy appliance for hosting and social occasions.

A Ready To Eat option promotes convenience at its finest. This innovative feature maintains food at a consistent refrigerator temperature throughout the day to prevent bacteria, and then it reheats the meal just before the preset time.

When using the probe during low-temperature cooking, perfect results will be achieved. By setting the precise desired temperature, the perfect cooking level can be attained, from core to surface, preserving all flavours and nutrients.

When designing Smeg appliances, smart living is always a consideration. Thanks to the SmegConnect App, users can select, customise, and start Blast Chiller programmes directly from smartphones or tablets.

Further, the Smeg experience with the Vitality System includes a trio of appliances, including Smeg’s built-in combi-steam oven, blast chiller, and vacuum drawer. The trio will inspire budding at-home chefs and professional foodies looking for expert cooking results at home.

The Blast Chiller is available from shop.smeguk.com, Smeg’s flagship store and selected stockists, retailing for £3,899 per item.
