The Notting Hill Kitchen by deVOL
It’s all going on in this deVOL kitchen in a fabulous apartment in Notting Hill, West London. Glamorous Arabescato marble and bold dramatic colours mixed with quirky, fun little pops of colour and frivolous ornaments. Despite its humble size, this room is big in personality and we love it.
The kitchen itself is only forty square foot, so choosing cupboards from deVOL’s Classic English range was a wise choice, they have been designed and handmade especially to fit this small but very grand looking kitchen.
deVOL incorporated slim, open shelving instead of boxy wall cupboards and hid the integrated appliances behind solid painted doors to ensure an uncomplicated room that felt really easy to be in but still functioned just as a kitchen should.
The mix of metals is lovely to see, it’s easy too if you stick to beautiful finishes and avoid anything that looks overly shiny and new. Here we have a stainless steel Bertazzoni cooker and matching extractor, aged brass deVOL taps and shelf brackets, and brass handles with a little verdigris. Variety is always good
and makes for a more eclectic and fun kind of room.
The colour is a rich, bespoke, sumptuous deep dark green, almost all over, with a white ceiling to make the room feel a bit taller.
There is a sense that big is always better, but in actual fact, a small richly coloured kitchen can be the most alluring of spaces, holding a certain charm and intimacy and beauty that is hard to achieve in a
large room.
For a deVOL Classic English Kitchen of a similar size to this project, prices would start from £20,000
