UWLA marls success

UWLA marks success in Europe with boost in membership

The Unified Water Label Association is celebrating seventeen successful years in Europe with a boost in new memberships from across Europe.

The first registration for the Unified Water Label was September 2007 by Lecico Bathrooms in the UK, followed by many others in Europe. Over the last two years fifteen brands have joined, seven of these over the last 3 months.

Antony Thompson – managing director at Lecico Bathrooms commented, “We have been proud supporters of the UWLA since 2007 and continue to use the label to highlight the water-efficiency of our products”.

The seven new members include Irish owned Sanbra Group, includes R T Large and St James brands; Italian bathroom and kitchen supplier Cristina; Polish ceramics and bathroom company Cersanit; Frattini an Italian tap manufacturer; Kludi, a German manufacturer of bathroom and kitchen fittings; hand washing solutions company Smixin based in Switzerland, and Neoperl retail, an international company that offers innovative solutions for drinking water.

UWLA MD Yvonne Orgill said, “The UWLA came from the European Bathroom Forum and a coming together of four European water labels. These strong European roots have led to the Unified Water Label becoming the pre-eminent product-based water label in the UK and Europe.

“Earlier this year the Portuguese association Anqip and UWLA merged providing one scheme for cross border selling, working together towards our aim for one labelling scheme across Europe.

“With a focus on driving forward growth via our comprehensive communication and education programmes, we anticipate further growth across Europe and meeting government goals in 2024 and 2025.
