Kitchens Review UWLA Bolton College July

UWLA partners with Bolton College

The Unified Water Label Association visited Bolton College to introduce the plumbing students to the Unified Water Label.

The visit, part of the UWLA’s education programme, was supported by McAlpine Plumbing Products, which donated to the college.

UWLA MD Yvonne Orgill presented the plumbing students on the importance of water conservation and efficiency and how the Unified Water Label can influence consumer behaviour. McAlpine also explained why they support the Unified Water Label and highlighted their range of products. Following the visit, large posters about the Unified Water Label have been created for display around the college.

Plumbing Tutor Ian Hall said, “We are grateful to UWLA and McAlpine Plumbing Products for their support. It is important that we drive forward awareness of water conservation via our plumbing students who can take the message out into the workplace, sharing their knowledge and good practice with the consumer.”

Yvonne Orgill added, “Our communications programme is vital, as products alone cannot bring about the change required. We must educate and influence consumers on how to select the most appropriate product for their home, use it most efficiently, and be more water-aware.

“Plumbers and installers are uniquely placed to influence consumers, and working with students enables them to look to the future, ensuring that those entering the industry are helping us spread the water efficiency message.

“This partnership is another great example of how working together can make a difference.”
