Whirlpool nominated for motor transport awards

Whirlpool UK Appliances Limited, parent company to KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Hotpoint and Indesit, has been nominated in five categories in the Motor Transport Awards 2018.

The Motor Transport Awards celebrates excellence in the road freight transport industry. Whirlpool UK has made the shortlist in the following categories: Home Delivery Operator of the Year, Operational and Compliance Excellence Award, Technical Excellence Award and Training Award. Whirlpool UK has also received a further nomination in the Partnership Award category, for its partnership with Jigsaw, which is the UK’s leading provider of large-scale transport solutions.

Whirlpool UK is the only major domestic appliance manufacturer to operate a home-delivery service directly to consumers. The company’s logistics division, Hotpoint Home Solutions (HHS), is one of the largest movers of white goods in Britain, delivering one million products annually.

Whirlpool UK’s logistics service provides national deliveries, including Northern Ireland, with a full seven-day provision. In addition, the cut-off time for next day delivery is 1800 hours. HHS also offers installation on all built-in electrical appliances (excluding cooker hoods).

Hotpoint Home Solutions boasts its very own, fully accredited, in-house training team. There is a purpose-built training academy, with classrooms, a fleet area, connection rooms and even a live training home.

Karen Slack, Senior Project Manager, Supply Chain, Whirlpool UK Appliances Limited says: “We operate an end-to-end process, which encompasses everything from when the customer first places their order, right the way through to unpacking, installation and removal of their old machine and packaging, for 100 per cent recycling. We are delighted with these nominations, they truly endorse our operating excellence approach and our dedication to moments that matter, it embodies the hard-work of everyone in Whirlpool UK’s logistics team.”

The 32nd Motor Transport Awards will be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Park Lane on 4th July 2018.
