Wilsonart Zenith Design winners announced

Wilsonart has announced the winners of its recent Zenith design competition. Zenith is the company’s innovative ultra-slim solid laminate worksurface range and is available in a choice of 12 decors.

1st Place – £300 Voucher

Paul Sequenza

Wickes, Kent

Décor – Zenith Caldeira

Paul used Zenith to its full potential for multiple applications across the kitchen space including the worktops, breakfast bar, splashbacks, shelves, end panels and window sills. He has also applied curves to the surface featured on the breakfast bar and installed an under-mount sink with drainer grooves. The design shows the versatility of the material and the creative opportunities it brings to kitchen design. Zenith is 100 per cent waterproof and double sided. Paul’s choice of Caldeira is an outstanding success with the blue cabinets chosen by the customer. “The customer loved Zenith so much that I suggested shelves, back panels and sills. I even used the top to create a deeper side panel, “says Paul. “I am thrilled to have won the contest and love working with such an amazing and versatile product.”

2nd Place – £150 Voucher

Anthony Storey

Wickes, Milton Keynes

Décor – Zenith Caldeira

Anthony created a stunning open plan kitchen space designed around a central statement island and seating area. Although Zenith is not used in many applications across the kitchen space, it has been used perfectly to clad the island unit and features on the surface, the sides, and the back panel. The island unit also features an under-mount sink with drainer grooves. Used with handless slab doors, this super matt neutral brings the contemporary kitchen dream to life.

3rd Place – £50 Voucher

James Katra

Benchmarx Katra, Norwich

Décor –  Zenith Lave

The judges really liked the simplicity of this kitchen design which features a monochrome effect created by the black surface against the light grey doors. The use of matching upstands offset against the white walls gives a sleek minimalistic atmosphere to this stunning modern kitchen.  James has incorporated a 300mm worktop overhang to create an informal breakfast bar seating area and used Zenith as a panel behind the induction hob and as a coordinated window sill.

“The three winning designs show how versatile Zenith kitchen worksurfaces really are,” comments Ruby Larvin, marketing communication manager for Wilsonart UK. Zenith allows designers to create a multitude of kitchen styles from simple and understated right through to innovative statement looks.  We would like to thank all entrants for sending in their kitchen creations and urge designers to continue pushing the boundaries of design with Zenith worktops. “
